The Avon girls softball team kept it close  going into the 6th inning but the South Shore girls put up 9 runs in the top of that inning to secure the victory. The girls played solid defense, especially Rylie Patterson and Mica Gomez in the middle infield. Maggie Hart was outstanding in centerfield and Kylie Mallett pitched well keeping the girls in the game until the 6th inning. Offensively, Rylie Patterson laced a triple over the center fielder's head during the three run fourth and both Tara O'Hea and Soraya Sykes scored 2 runs. The girls lost 22 to 9.
